Getting your items ready for the sale:

  • Items need to be in good condition and clothing must be in current fashion, not outdated. Keep in mind that “play clothes” will not sell.
  • Clean and press your garments. Your items will sell faster, the better they look.
  • Button buttons, snap snaps and close all zippers.
  • All games, puzzles must be in their original boxes; DVDs, video tapes and CDs in their original cases.
  • All toys and furniture can not have broken or missing pieces.
  • All battery operated items must be in working order and are required to have batteries in them at Drop-Off.
  • Large items such as highchairs, strollers, baby swings, outside play equipment, pack n plays, and walkers should be five years old or less. Cribs, dressers, changing tables, bookcases, activity/train tables need to be ten years old or less. As the consignor, you are responsible for checking for recalls on all items you submit to the sale.
  • Clothing needs to be sorted by gender, then by size. Rubberband items of the same size together, in groups of no more than 15.

Clothing:

Must be hung on shirt hangers, with the hanger hook facing left so the hanger makes a question mark (?). Bottoms such as pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, scooters and capris, should be pinned with safety pins through the waistband to the top sides of the hanger. Do not use clothespins to secure the item to the hanger, they do not stay on. Please do not hang bottoms on pant hangers, they will fall off and wind up on the floor where shoppers will not see them.

Clothing Sets:

Must have the bottom of the set (pant, skirt, shorts) pinned behind the shirt. Pin the shirt through the shoulders and then the bottom through the waistband to the top sides of the hanger.
Dresses with matching diaper covers: pin the dress through the shoulders and the diaper cover through the waistband. The diaper cover needs to be behind the dress.
Jumper dresses and overalls that have a matching shirt/top: pin both items through the shoulders to the top sides of the hanger. The shirt in this case needs to be behind the dress or overalls, so you can see the primary item.
Items with more than two pieces: i.e. a set with a shirt, pant, hat and bib. Pin the shirt through the shoulders and the pants through the waistband (the pants need to be behind the shirt). Before closing the safety pins, pin the hat through one shoulder and the bib through the other. Close the pins securing all items to the top sides of the hanger. The hat and the bib will be pinned to the front of the shirt.

Shoes:

All shoes need to be placed in Ziploc bags. One pair of shoes per bag. Before placing the shoes in the bag, place a piece of masking tape with your consigner number written on it, to the bottom of each shoe. This will help us identify whose items it is if the shoes come out of the bag.

Small items and toys:

Bibs, hat, small toys, such as Matchbox cars, should be placed in Ziploc bags.

Toys with multiple items and/or small pieces:

Need to be placed in a Ziploc bag and taped to the main item. Place a piece of masking tape with your consigner number written on it, on the bag.
For Example: A “Little People” Barn is the main item, the “people”, animals and other accessories that go with the barn, need to be in a Ziploc bag taped to the barn.

Boardgames and Puzzles:

Need to be in their original boxes. Books, DVDs, CDs and Videos: can be sold separately or grouped together in a Ziploc bag.

Large Items:

Furniture, highchairs, stroller, etc. These items can be sold assembled or unassembled. Assembled items sell faster and can be sold a t a higher price. If you need to unassembled your item for transport to the sale, consider these options. Assemble the item during Drop-Off or tape a picture of the item assembled to the item. All bolts, screws, washer, Allen wrenches, etc., must be placed in a Ziploc bag and taped to the item.

Large Items That Can Not Be Brought To The Sale:

Outdoor play equipment, play houses, armoires, etc. The best option for these items is to become a sponsor for $20.00 a listing. You create an 8.5x11 (normal letter size) ad and we will place it on our listings board at the sale. Your ad will get viewed more frequently than it does in a traditional print publication. You must be a registered consignor to participate. We do not take a percentage of the sale because of the listing fee. Interested buyers will contact you and arrange for viewing, purchase and pick-up of the item.

Cribs:

If you are planning on selling a crib and crib mattress, the mattress needs to be inlcuded in the price of the crib. Mattresses can not be sold separately.

Bedding:

Needs to be placed in a large Ziploc storage bag or the original bag that it came in. It is best to sell the comforter, sheets, shams, etc. together as a set.

Tagging

A 3x5 index card must be used for all tags.

  • Use a WHITE 3x5 card if you would like to DONATE the unsold item after the sale.
  • Use a COLORED 3x5 card if you would like to PICK-UP the unsold item after the sale.
  • Please use a pen or marker to write all tags (no pencil, please).
  • Please write clearly and neatly.

All tags must be in this format:

1. Your consignor number in the top, left hand corner.
2. Write the Brand Name (Gap, Carters, Little Me, etc.) of the item in the center of the card.
3. Under the Brand Name, write a brief description of the item.
4. In the top, right hand corner, write the size of the item. All items need to be labeled with a number size (2T, 3T, etc.) Items that are labeled small, medium, large, etc. need to be given a number size based on the size group the garment belongs to. For example, a size small in Girls 7-16, could be labeled as a size 7 or 8.
5. Write the price in the bottom, right hand corner.
6. Leave the bottom, left hand corner blank if you will allow the item to be discounted on Sunday. If you do not want the item to be discounted write “DND” (Do Not Discount) in this space.

EXAMPLE

Tag Placement:

All clothing items must have the tag placed in the top right corner (as you are looking at it) of the garment. Using a safety pin, attach the tag by pushing the pin through the top center of the index card and catching it through the garment, before closing the safety pin.

Follow these guidelines when placing tags on other items:
  • Shoes, small toys, toys with multiple pieces, bedding and groups of books: All need to be in Ziploc bags with the tag taped to the outside, upper right hand corner (as you are looking at it) of the bag. Using a piece of clear packing tape, tape the tag to the bag.
  • Books (sold separately) DVDs, CDs, videos, boardgames and puzzles: The tag needs to be taped with clear packing tape to the back of the item.
  • Large items: Tape the tag to a visible spot on the item with a piece of clear packing tape.
  •

    Important! Important!
All clothing items must have a piece of masking tape with your consignor number written on it, taped to the manufacturer’s tag or inside the collar or waistband of the garment. All other items including shoes must have a piece of masking tape with your consignor number on it, taped somewhere on the item. This is to help us identify who the item belongs to if the tag gets misplaced.

    Pricing Guidelines

One big difference between our sale and a consignment store, is that you, the seller, sets the price on the items you are selling. We suggest these guidelines for pricing your items.

    • 1/3 to 1/2 of the original price paid for the item. (Please refer to our Pricing Guidelines for suggested prices).
    • Items from Brands such as Abercrombie Kids, Gap, Gymboree, Limited Too, Justice, Ralph Lauren can be priced closer to 1/2 the original price paid.
    • Large items such as cribs, highchairs, strollers, ride-ons, outdoor play items, etc. we suggest pricing closer to 1/2 the original price, as these items are rarely or slightly ever discounted at a retail store.
    • All items must be prices in increments of $1.00.
    • If a clothing item or a toy can not be priced for at least $3, pair it with another item.
    • Selling an expensive item? Write the original price you paid for the item, under the item description on the tag. This will let the shopper know how much they are saving and what a great deal they are getting.
For Example: Pottery Barn Kids Activity Table ($299.00) OR Power Wheels  Motorized Barbie Jeep ($319.00)
    • If an item is Brand New and has the retail tags still on it leave them on. If the item has been marked down, depending on the price you are selling it for, you may want to cut the markdown price off.
    • We encourage you to allow your items to be discounted on Sunday to half price. Those who do this will find that they will sell more items and make more money.
    • NOTE: The most important thing to remember when pricing your items: Price them fairly so they will sell at full price; do not underprice your items. You are selling yourself short, especially if you allow your items to be sold at half price on Sunday.

Please Note: Tags without a consigner number will be donated. Items with missing tags, we will try to contact you for a price, if we can not reach you the items will be sold for a fair price and you will receive the proceeds.
